Jodey D. Hinze serves as Of Counsel to Webb Strahan Meeks, PLLC. His practice focuses on property tax disputes, estate planning, civil appellate advocacy, and summary judgment practice. He represents clients in Texas trial courts, the Courts of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of Texas, applying an appellate perspective at every stage of litigation.
He works with trial counsel to develop theory of the case and preserve error, framing statutory and constitutional arguments with precision. He has substantial experience briefing and arguing Motions for Summary Judgment, Pleas to the Jurisdiction, Motions to Dismiss, and expert challenges in matters involving governmental immunity, tax disputes, contract claims, fraud, premises liability, construction, and Title IX.
On appeal, Jodey serves as lead appellate counsel before the Texas Courts of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Texas. His practice includes direct appeals and original proceedings that demand close textual analysis and disciplined procedural framing.
Within the firm’s business and tax practice, he represents commercial and residential property owners in property tax valuation disputes and advises closely held businesses on litigation exposure and structural planning. He assists clients with tax planned estate strategies, including wills designed to preserve post mortem flexibility while aligning succession objectives with federal estate tax law. He advises nonprofit boards on fiduciary duties, governance, and legal risk.
Jodey serves as Dean of the College of Arts and Humanities at Houston Christian University, where he teaches business ethics, business law, and constitutional law. His scholarship on corporate moral agency and corporate religious liberty informs his approach to liability and institutional responsibility.
He received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Houston Law Center.
